Winix's page for this filter states "Compatible with Winix Air Cleaner Model XQ", and the XQ's own product page designates this set as its replacement. The two agree. We checked the designation the same way we check everything else: on the XQ's page this filter's code appears nineteen times against nine for every other code on the page — nine being the generic shop strip that sits on every Winix page. That is what an unambiguous pairing looks like.

We make the point because the sibling case does not hold up. On the Winix AT40, the machine's page designates Filter Z by a single extra mention, and Filter Z's own page names two different machines and not the AT40. Same manufacturer, same week, two very different levels of confidence.

The one thing left open: Filter X2, code 1712-0089-03, is sold separately and Winix does not explain the difference.
