NestyFinds researches air purifiers, dehumidifiers and the replacement filters they eat. We are a documentary research site: we read manuals, specification sheets, the AHAM Verifide directory and the CARB certified air cleaner list, and we turn them into pages that answer the question you actually had.
There is a lot of nonsense in this category. “HEPA-type” filters that meet no standard. Coverage claims quoted at air-change rates nobody mentions. Ionizers sold as a bonus feature without a word about ozone. Our whole reason to exist is to put the documented number next to the marketing one and let you see the gap.
We have no lab, no particle counter and no anechoic chamber, so we never state a performance figure as if we measured it. Every number here comes from the manufacturer’s documentation or from an independent standards body such as AHAM, and we link to where we read it.
When a manufacturer does not publish a figure, we leave it empty and say so on the page. We do not borrow the number from a sibling model, estimate it from a similar unit, or repeat it from a review site that did not cite a source. A specification table full of guesses is worse than one with honest holes.
The single most misleading number in this category is room size. The same machine can be advertised at 1,500 sq ft or 350 sq ft depending on how many times an hour it is assumed to clean the room. We publish both figures together, or neither.
We describe what a filter mechanically captures, as documented. We do not say a purifier prevents illness, treats asthma or makes a room safe. Nothing here is medical advice, and if a health question matters to you, it belongs with a clinician rather than a shopping site.

Specifications change without notice and we get things wrong like anyone else. Every page carries the month it was last reviewed. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it and re-date the page.

Every review, comparison and filter guide carries the month it was last reviewed. If a page has not been revisited in a while, that date tells you so.
