Does NOT fit — commonly confused

  • Blue Pure 311i+ Max — the larger machine, AHAM model 3432111100, at 339 cfm smoke across 525 sq ft. Blueair sells it a separate filter under SKU 110038 and UPC 689122023304. Two stock numbers and two barcodes mean two products, whatever the compatibility line on either page says.
  • Any other Blue Pure model. The 411, 511 and 211+ series take entirely different cartridges, and this catalogue has separate pages for those.

⚠️ BLUEAIR'S OWN COMPATIBILITY LINE ON THIS FILTER'S PAGE NAMES THE WRONG MACHINE, AND WE CHECKED THIS IN THE PAGE SOURCE RATHER THAN TAKING A SUMMARY'S WORD FOR IT.

The page for the Blue Pure 311i Max filter mentions "311i Max" sixty-five times. It mentions "311i+" exactly once — and that single occurrence is the compatibility sentence itself: "This filter is compatible only with the Blue Pure Max 311i+ air purifier."

The neighbouring page, for the 311i+ Max filter, carries the identical sentence and mentions "311i+" sixty times. The line has been copied from one page to the other, and on the 311i Max page it is wrong.

WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. Ignore the sentence and order by number. For a Blue Pure 311i Max, that is SKU 110037 or UPC 689122023298. For a 311i+ Max, SKU 110038 or UPC 689122023304. The product titles are also reliable — "Blue Pure 311i Max Particle + Carbon Filter" versus "Blue Pure 311i+ Max Particle + Carbon Filter" — as long as you notice the plus sign.

WHAT WE ARE NOT CLAIMING. We are not saying the two cartridges are physically incompatible. Blueair does not state that any part of it is washable, and the machine's own page describes "4 layers of filtration" without naming them individually, so what the four layers are is not documented on either page.

Filter life is not a fixed calendar interval on this machine. Blueair's RealTrack algorithm counts fan speed, running time and measured pollution, and the stated result is up to nine months.

How often to change it

"Depending on usage, your filter will last up to 9 months."

That is not a calendar figure. Blueair states that its RealTrack algorithm "accurately calculates the remaining filter lifetime based on fan speed, usage time and pollution levels", so the indicator is counting what the machine actually did rather than days elapsed. Nine months is the ceiling, not the schedule: a unit running hard in dirty air will ask sooner.

Resetting the filter indicator

  1. Replace the filter first, then reset — the counter is not automatic.
  2. Press and hold the fan speed button for about 15 seconds.
  3. Keep holding until all the LEDs on the interface light up.
  4. The filter light indicator turns off.

When something goes wrong
